Bamboo Heels

One day in the Ibuku studio, I got this idea in my head to create a pair of heels made from black Dendrocalamus Asper bamboo. I drew a sketch and could not get the idea out of my head, so I had to create them. I got in touch with my favorite Balinese craftsman whom I had worked with before and we began. Over the course of a few meetings, he crafted the shoes with my feedback. Shave a little off here, cut this line there, etc. The completed pair of shoes are terribly uncomfortable, but I keep them as a reminder that good designers should try everything.
